‘V’ is for sweet, sweet Victory: Part I

I’ll admit, it feels weird sitting down to write about my I Quit Sugar experiment after last weeks emotional catharsis but so many of you have written to me with kind words of support, well wishes and hopes that I’ve not fallen off the sugar-free bandwagon and into a fructose frenzy in the wake of everything has been going on, and I’m proud to say that I haven’t. Officially, I have completed my 8-week IQS program, and for the most part, I stuck to the plan bar a few minor slips ups, and probably — almost definitely — way too much wine. (more…)

Detox, distractions & sensing the devil inside

I do love a good detox. I’ve tried several. From The Lemon Detox, week-long juice fasts and a 3-month program of some serious colonic irrigation, I’ve tried more detoxes than most. Most holistic health programs involve some sort of detox as your body eliminates the build up of toxins that have accumulated in your system. The I Quit Sugar program is no exception and my assignments for week five were to “get creative, experiment…and detox.” (more…)
